Joe Rogan will not do the commentary for McGregor vs. Mayweather for an excellent reason

Can't argue with that

One would have suspected Joe Rogan would be in the conversation if a crossover bout was agreed but he is steering clear.

Right now it is hard to tell exactly where we are at with a boxing contest between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

The Dubliner has declared his next fight will be against Mayweather while ‘Money’ has cautioned him to sort out his UFC business first.

McGregor is in Las Vegas at present and there have been suggestions that he is looking to set events in motion that will led to a Mayweather bout before the year is out.

The latest developments were discussed on the most recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience with the UFC veteran believes boxing commentators would be better suited to calling the action.

Brendan Schaub believes the commentary team should be one from a boxing background and one ‘balls deep’ in UFC knowledge. When he asked Rogan if he would not consider it, he responded:

“No, I wouldn’t do that.

“I want to watch it with you guys and I want to get drunk. C’mon man, if that’s happening I want to get hammered and I want to broadcast live. I swear to God I would.”

Can’t argue with that.

Rogan loves doing live fight commentary but despises putting in the hours doing fight companion work and voice-overs.
