Arguably the biggest young star in the UFC is facing some pretty serious allegations.
There is an extraordinary amount of hype surrounding 19-year-old karate phenom Sage Northcutt.
Despite only beating up bums on the regional circuit, his first round TKO victory against Francisco Trevino in his UFC debut drew a lot of interest from the MMA community. This was largely due to him playing a starring role on the promotion’s reality TV show Looking for a Fight.
As soon as he signed for the UFC, you got the feeling they were banking on the incredibly marketable athlete being one of their next big stars.
However, his opponent for UFC fight Night 80, Cody “the Pfist” Pfister, reckons the starlet may have had some extra in reaching such peak physical condition. Pfister told Bloody Elbow that he is certain Northcutt’s ripped physique indicates that uses PEDs.
“From what I’ve heard Northcutt’s been drug tested like four times, I think that says something. He’s fucking jacked, I’m sure he’s juicing, but who knows. I might be wrong on that and he’s just naturally gifted, but it doesn’t matter.”

Pfister’s claims only add to the rumour mill which was perpetuated by the dark past of the fighter’s father, who is also his coach.
An article about Mark Northcutt being arrested for possession of 25 kilos recently resurfaced which raised a few eyebrows. The piece described Mark, a former body builder, as a “known steroid-dealer”, which raised even further suspicion.
Despite making the serious claims against the teen, Pfister does not disagree with how the promotion are hyping him up.
“Hype him up as much as you want, that’s fine, it just gives me more motivation to go out there and beat him.”
However, he does wish that a little bit more love would be thrown his way. ”
I hate when people overlook me, people been trying to do that shit my whole life.”
