Ben Affleck’s in!
One of the UFC’s new celebrity owners, Ben Affleck, is firmly on board with the much discussed super-fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.
A keen fight fan, Affleck would surely have been interested in tuning in to watch what would undoubtedly be the greatest combat sports spectacle in history, should the bout come to fruition, but now that he has a financial interest in the company, we can understand why he’s all the more eager for it to take place under the UFC’s promotional banner, even though it would be contested under boxing rules.
Affleck joined the likes of Tom Brady, Jimmy Kimmel and Mark Wahlberg in snapping up some shares when the UFC was sold by the Fertitta brothers last July.
Our very own Eoghan Doherty sat down with Affleck as he promoted his brand new gangster flick of good men gone bad, Live By Night, and got the star’s thoughts on ‘The Notorious’ vs. Mayweather.
“That would be an amazing fight. Can you imagine?” Affleck said.
“He’s something else. He is something else. I really am a fan of his.
“That would be the biggest fight in the last 30 years.”
