“I want to give a major shout out, and a huge thank you to the living legend that is Ole Gunnar Solskjær!”
Conor McGregor has paid tribute to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the Norwegian was dismissed as Manchester United manager.
Solskjaer was dismissed after United’s 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday. The Red Devils have recorded victory in just one of their last seven Premier League games.

United’s recent run of poor results and underwhelming performances have seen them drop to eighth in the table – 12 points off league leaders Chelsea.
The 48-year-old has attracted criticism in recent weeks, with former players and ex-team-mates calling for his sacking prior to the weekend’s result.
However, one person that was keen to thank Solskjaer for the job he did while in the hot-seat was UFC star McGregor.
The Irishman, a Man United supporter, said: “I want to give a major shout out, and a huge thank you to the living legend that is Ole Gunnar Solskjær! Ole you are forever, Sir! Icon! Inspiration! Hero! Legend! Thank you Ole @ManUtd”.
He added: This is what “Forever Legend” looks like! @ManUtd #RedArmyHero #Passion #Winner #TheOneTheOnly #OleGunnar”.

After his dismissal from the club was confirmed, Solskjaer revealed how proud he is to have managed the Red Devils, insisting it was a ‘dream’ come true.
Man United confirmed that first-team coach Michael Carrick would take charge of the club on a temporary basis, with this first test coming against Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
