It was like Jones vs. Cormier all over again.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz were kept apart for their televised interviews on Thursday.
From separate rooms, with banks of security guards outside each, the UFC 196 headliners spoke to FOX Sports minutes after the altercation that almost erupted into a full-on brawl at the pre-fight press conference.

Diaz put his right fist a little too close to McGregor’s face for the Irishman’s liking and McGregor punched it away, prompting members of both fighters’ camps to rush the stage.
Diaz was seen nursing his hand after the strike but insists it is not injured, something that McGregor doesn’t agree with.
“The medics are in with him now,” McGregor said.
“His wrist will never be the same – like his bum knee, like his bum right leg.
“I’m going to take that right leg home.”
