The featherweight division may have gained another title contender.
As if the prospect of facing arguably the best featherweight in the history of the sport wasn’t bad enough, now McGregor might cross paths with another legendary Brazilian fighter.
Former long standing UFC bantamweight champion and training partner of Jose Aldo, Renan Barao has announced on a Brazilian TV show that he will be making the move to featherweight.

Barao went on an incredible 33-fight unbeaten run that lasted nine years before TJ Dilllashaw shocked the world and knocked him out to become champion.
The Brazilian veteran has some impressive scalps on his record including Urijah Faber (twice), Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland. He also reportedly struggled to make the cut down to 135 lbs, so a new home in the featherweight division could see a revitalised and more devastating Barao.
