Conor McGregor released on bail after Miami arrest

Conor McGregor was arrested in Miami in the early hours of Monday morning.

MMA fighter Conor McGregor has been arrested outside of the outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel, according to a Miami Beach police spokesperson.

The arrest occurred on Monday and the former two-weight UFC world champion has been charged with strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief after allegedly smashing a man’s phone at approximately 5am on Monday morning.

It is believed that the man had been taking photos of McGregor at the time.

McGregor was reportedly spending time in Miami as he prepared for his return to the UFC. His previous fight, on 7 October 2018, saw him comfortably beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

A fight then broke out after the bout, leading to McGregor receiving a six-month ban from the Octagon. Nurmagomedov received a nine-month ban for his role in the incident.

He was released from custody in Florida city on bail after posting his bond of $12,500
