UFC 200 was supposed to be the biggest mixed martial arts event of all time. The United States Anti-Doping Agency are still attempting to sort through the mess.
The promotion has, this evening, been informed that Brock Lesnar – their co-main event star – has been flagged for an out-of-competition anti-doping violation.
The UFC has released a statement confirming that Lesnar’s potential violation stemmed from a test carried out on June 28, a little under two weeks out from his much-anticipated comeback.
USADA, the statement continued, only received the June 28 testing results on Thursday, July 14, five days after Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision.

As per USADA policy, the name of the substance Lesnar tested positive for has not been released. A full adjudication process will now follow before Lesnar’s fate is learned. The American is expected to return to WWE (professional wrestling) duties and is slated to take on Randy Orton at Summerslam.
The violation comes eight days after Jon Jones, who was supposed to headline UFC 200, was also flagged by USADA and pulled from the card.
In a conference call, in the lead-up to UFC 200, Lesnar responded to questions as to whether he may have ever taken performance enhancing drugs by remarking:
“I’ve been dealing with that my entire life. I’m a white boy and I’m jacked; deal with it.”
Lesnar may have to deal with USADA and UFC sanctions in the coming weeks.
