We have a feeling every win is going to be very sweet from now on for AP
The outpouring of affection and respect for Tony McCoy since his shock retirement announcement at the weekend has been great to see. With everyone from taxi drivers to his colleagues paying tribute, it has been an emotional few days for the man more associated with cold-hearted winning above all else.
Yesterday, McCoy took the big race at Leopardstown, the Hennessy Gold Cup and he enjoyed it so much he even joked afterwads that he wasn’t going to retire at all.
This morning, with the taste of victory still in mouth, the 19-time champion tweeted just how much the win meant to him.
Walking into winners enclosure yesterday after winning Irish Hennessy was a day I’ll miss so much but will never forget #CarlingfordLough
