Did he not learn anything from Joe Riggs?
RTE broadcaster Hugh Cahill made a bet with himself over the King George VI chase at Kempton on Stephen’s Day that has unfortunately come back to bite him on the dignity.
The commentator used the very public forum of Twitter to make the vow that should Cue Card win the race, he would go to Leopardstown the following day dressed as Eddie Izzard did at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

He was so confident in his prediction that he even went as far as to use the hashtag #nochance. So that must mean there was absolutely no chance the horse would triumph, right?
Right?
Wrong.
A strong finish from Cue Card saw it overtake Ruby Walsh’s horse Vautour at the finish line.
Right so.. See you tomorrow @LeopardstownRC pic.twitter.com/2c1oh4lOAs

We certainly hope Cahill is a good sport about it and fulfills his promise, and similarly let’s hope that Joe Riggs doesn’t follow through on his.
