Fingers crossed he’ll be ok
Brian O’Connell has been confirmed to take over as the jockey aboard Lord Windermere for the Grand National this afternoon after Robbie McNamara suffered a very serious fall at Wexford on Friday.
According to reports today the Limerick man suffered serious injuries when he fell from Bursledon in the Cahore Point Handicap Hurdle on Friday evening.
He was initially taken to hospital in Wexford but was later transferred to ther Mater hospuital with injuries to his chest,spine and abdomen,

Chief medical officer with the Turf Club Adrian McGoldrick has revealed that there will be no further update on McNamara’s condition until tomorrow at the earliest,
‘I have spoken to his family and we have agreed there will be no further comment until Sunday, by which time he will have undergone further scans.’
McNamara was due to ride the 50-1 shot today for Jim Culloty, but O’Connell will now take over the ride for the 4.15 showpiece at Aintree
