It could not have happened to a nicer man.
Mouse Morris has made history this afternoon as his mount Rule The World claimed the 2016 Aintree Grand National under David Mullins.
The horse made a stunning late charge to deny The Last Samurai and Vics Canvas to make it an Irish and English Grand National double for the Fethard trainer.

It was 19-year-old David Mullins first ever ride in the national and he was stunned at the win.

Morris, of course, won the Irish Grand National just two weeks ago with Rogue Angel, and the win was an especially emotional one for his family after the death of his son Christopher last year.
He was lost for words as he tried to speak to Claire Balding after the win.

If anything can help you make a lifestyle change, it’s a Grand National win.
Mouse Morris tells Clare Balding he's 'gonna give up the fags'. That's the effect of winning the Grand National! What a brilliant race 👏🏻🏆🏇🏻
