Champagne Fever declared for the King George at Kempton

The Willie Mullins mount has never gone three miles before

We’re set for a Battle Royale in the big feature at Kempton on St Stephen’s Day

Ireland will just have two entries in this year’s William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton in less than a week.

Willie Mullins has put forward his star Champagne Fever and Jonjo O’Neill is going with Johns Spirit to try and upset the odds.

Mullins is taking a risk because his mount has never gone three miles before.

It’s no surprise that the Paul Nicholls trained Silviniaco Conti is the main contender once again while  the Englishman will also have a chance with Al Ferof and Wonderful Charm.

The grey Cue Card is also in the list hoping to improve from last year’s runner-up spot along with Wishfull Thinking and Menorah for Philip Hobbs.

Double Ross completes the line up for Nigel Twiston-Davies.
