If you ever have the privilege of receiving a gift from Sergio Garcia, don’t be offended if it isn’t wrapped.
Footage has emerged of Garcia taking part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Rory McIlroy and the Spaniard’s scissor skills leave a lot to be desired.
In Garcia’s defence, the event’s organisers managed to make this one even more cripplingly boring than what we’ve come to expect from similar grand openings.
Rather than give the golfers a massive novelty scissors which, if we’re being completely honest, is pretty much the only element of the tradition that could be considered in any way “fun”, they opted to give them some sort of miniature nail clippers. If that hasn’t sparked your interest, then the suit in between probably won’t either.
Nonetheless, McIlroy made the most of the opportunity to showcase his competitive spirit. He left Garcia choking on his fabric molecules by speeding through the task with relative ease and then subsequently rubbing it in his face on social media afterwards.

Sergio took a hell of a beating there. We wouldn’t be surprised if he could no longer try to cut a coupon out of a newspaper (remember those things?) without having a panic attack.
