The county Down man might divide opinion when he’s specifically trying not to divide opinion over his allegiance to either Ireland or Great Britain but there are some things that aren’t in doubt: Rory McIlroy is good at golf.

The former world number one is in Guateng and he’s decided to do what he decides to do on some day 3 Saturdays: turn it on and rip through golf courses for fun.
He hit an eagle at the seventh hole and his charge continued up the leaderboard.
And, yep, it was a par four.

McIlroy has hit his stride and it started on Friday when he went on an incredible eight-hole stretch that included an eagle, six birdies and no missed putts.
Now, he’s just making magic happen out there with his control of the ball.
