We’re on the case.
There was a cracking line-up on Second Captains last night. A world boxing champion, a back-to-back Six Nations winner, and one of the country’s best GAA managers of the last decade.
However, none came close to captivating the public quite like the bearded magnificence of Shane Lowry. It wasn’t just the shape or full growth of the beard that amazed people though, but rather the fact that it was blindingly sparkly.
Is he using a special conditioner? Does he massage a beard tonic into it? Was it just a lighting issue? Did he rub his face in glitter 10 minutes before the show?
As a fellow-bearded man, these were all questions I asked myself as I lay awake last night. I needed answers.
As usual, Twitter also spotted it. There were countless tweets about it, and by countless, I mean 31. Here are some of the best.
