Tipperary are the Allianz Football League Division 3 champions.
The Premier county claimed the prize in a high-scoring affair against Louth at Croke Park. In the end, it was the goals that proved to be the difference. Tipp scored three of them and ran out 3-19 to 0-19 winners.
Michael Quinlivan put in a stellar performance, scoring three points, two of which came from frees. The 2016 All-Star picked up the Man of the Match accolade for his display. However, he felt there was someone more deserving of the award.
As we said, it was the goals that decided the game and no one got more of them in the game than his attacking partner Conor Sweeney.
Sweeney caught fire, scoring two goals and five points in a powerhouse performance. When it came to Man of the Match presentation, Quinlivan felt a little embarrassed to be receiving the prize ahead of Sweeney, and he made sure everyone watching knew exactly how he felt.
“If I’m being brutally honest, I’d say Charlie might be watching the wrong inside forward there.”
Pure class.
