Minor hurlers and footballers have a lot on their minds.

They are trying to combine life as emerging top level sportsmen with study, family, and every other roadblock in between.

And sometimes those tricky obstacles are far removed from cones on a training pitch.

Ahead of the Electric Ireland All-Ireland minor finals next month, Kilkenny’s Jackie Tyrell has revealed his most nervous moment as a young man looking to make his big breakthrough as a minor in 1999.
