More than just a stadium.
Every journey begins with a single step, and when that quest brings you to Croke Park for the very first time, it’s an odyssey that is forever etched in your memory.
It’s having the jersey laid out from the night before, it’s the excitement in the car or the train, it’s conning your mam into giving you the last sandwich and it’s patting your pocket every thirty seconds to make sure you still have your ticket.
Ahead of this weekend’s All-Ireland semi final-replay between Dublin and Mayo we rounded up the GAA fans in our office, men and women from north and south, east and west, to recall their memories of their first day in Croke Park, as well as getting their thoughts on Saturday’s big game between Dublin and Mayo.
It’s not just their story, it’s everyone’s story.
