VIDEO: Kerry’s Barry John Keane shows off his insane box jump ability

50 inch jump for 5'10 forward

Is this the new bleep test for GAA players?

The skills and challenges that GAA players put themselves through just keep developing and changing. Once it was just a matter of doing a few laps around the goals and if you wanted a change and variety you ran the other way. You wouldn’t get Mick O’Dwyer having the Bomber Liston or Paidi O’Sé jumping up on a box in training to test their skills.

In 2015 however being able to prove that you can generate enough power to jump up to a height without falling over seems to be pretty popular with players looking to out perform each other in various crazy tasks.

JJ Watt famously did a box jump of 59 inches on Jimmy Kimmel but we think Barry John Keane can hold his head up high with this effort.

The Kerry footballer seems to have set the bar quite literally as he’s filmed in this video box jumping a massive 50 inch target.

BJ wasn’t even the best effort on the day with another lad jumping a monster 52 inches. That’s almost four and-a-half feet.

We’d be lucky to jump out of the way of the cat not to mind the height of a child.
