VIDEO: French TV show comes to Galway to learn hurling and it is just bonkers

Conan Doherty

“Your French humour is very unusual.”

Do you like hurling? Do you like Galway? Do you like irritating French presenters? Well, you won’t believe what we have for you.

TV station beIN Sports France made the trip to the west coast of Ireland to sample the most pure Gaelic culture it could find and it couldn’t have done that without the help of Jean-Baptiste Goupil who… well, we’ll let you make your own mind up about him.

The French presenter visited Cathal Mannion’s club, Ahascragh/Fohenagh, to try his best with the small ball and hurl and he was given a tough time of it by the local Tribesmen who didn’t hold back on him.

He was lucky enough to catch a game too but here it is, the French take on Irish sport.
