VIDEO: Davy Fitzgerald swearing on a zipline is as entertaining as you’d expect

More bleeps than dialogue

Kevin McGillicuddy

Davy Fitzgerald is the most passionate sports person on camera in this country.

At a game or at training, the Sixmilebridge native never gives less than 100%.

That means he expects people to go through walls for him or climb over them, as is the case in his TV Show Ireland’s Fittest Family.

Fitzgerald puts various family groups through their paces at hard physical challenges each week on the RTE show, but behind the shouting and screaming there’s a man scared of heights who swears like a a sailor when the pressure is turned on.

Fitzgerald is well known for his hatred of anything above five-foot-ten so when the O’Brien Devines are forced to endure a zipline challenge, it’s only fair that the two-time All-Ireland winner also has a go.

Let’s just say that Davy’s experience of being taken through the air with nothing but a piece of wire to keep you from crashing to the ground a bloody mess results in lots and lots of swearing

Davy’s choice language is thankfully bleeped out, it’s a family show after all, but helpfully, RTE have provided a swear counter that clocks up the **** words at an alarming rate
