One tough journey for the Corofin man

When Ciarán McGrath suffered a double fracture of his fibia and tibia many thought his career would be at an end. But not him.

He fought back, leaving his job for seven months to focus solely on his rehabilitation.

We caught up with McGrath and in this stirring video he explains how his motivation during this toughest of ordeals was to get back out on the pitch and help take Corofin to an AIB GAA All-Ireland Club Championship final.

On St Patrick’s Day that becomes a reality as the club from Galway take on Slaughtneil at Croke Park.

For Ciarán McGrath the final is the latest obstacle to overcome in his remarkable journey.

If you want to see Corofin take on Slaughtneil in the AIB GAA All Ireland Club Championship final at Croke Park on March 17th, tickets are available here
