Tim O’Mahony’s GPS tracker had to work overtime to follow the Cork star’s running against Kilkenny

Kilkenny 1-32 Cork 1-37

What a game of hurling! To say it had everything would be an understatement, as the nerves are only now beginning to calm down in Croke Park.

Kilkenny got off to a flying start before Cork battled back and took charge in the second half. Patrick Horgan was running the show and would eventually finish the game with 0-15.

Speaking of running, nobody ran more than Tim O’Mahony, who was lined out at half-back and zoomed up and down the wing at a ferocious rate for the entire game.

Cork looked to have done enough, being three points to the good, with just under a minute to go, until Kilkenny captain Adrian Mullen managed to find the net at the very death, to bring the game to extra time.

At this stage, O’Mahony’s GPS tracker was probably on the fritz as it was trying to calibrate the distance he covered, but with another 20 minutes to go, surely records were broken.

He never slowed down and helped his side reach their first All-Ireland final in eight years.

They won by five points in the end, and a Jack O’Connor goal swung the pendulum back in the Rebels’ favour to ensure that it will be them who play Limerick in the 2021 All-Ireland final.
