Shane Curran has just gotten his first gig as a bainisteoir

We can't wait to see him in action on the sideline

Sean Nolan

The recently retired legend has become the manager of a club in Roscommon.

If you have been lucky enough to read his brilliant autobiography ‘Cake’ then you will know that Shane Curran is a man who takes his Gaelic football very seriously indeed. His motivation techniques once included flinging a pint of his own blood around the changing room at half-time so he is no ordinary man.

With that in mind, the players at Padraig Pearses should have an interesting time next year now that Curran hs been given the job of managing their senior footballers.

Curran will bring his many, many years of experience, in GAA and soccer, to the job and it could be a masterful move by a club that have never won the Roscommon senior title.

And who knows, this could be the first step for the hardcore Arsenal fan on the road to eventually replacing Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
