If there was such a thing as ‘player cam’ in the GAA then it really should have been on offer at a Laois club game at the weekend.
Sunday afternoon’s Kelly Cup clash between Barrowhouse and Graiguecullen produced one of the best GAA pictures we’ve seen so far this year.
Graiguecullen defender Patrick ‘Chops’ Scully lined up to mark the young, and much shorter forward by the name of Brian ‘Bugsy’ Malone in both sides first outing of 2016.
And bizarrely, a seemingly unfair contest was captured in a wonderful picture by local photographer Paul Dargan that is the GAA at its very, very best.

We would estimate that ‘Chops’ has at least at least a foot extra of height on his direct marker. He must have shown all his experience to keep the youngster quiet, as Barrowhouse just managed four points over the course of the hour in the 0-10 to 0-4 loss.
If David and Goliath ever played GAA, then it may have looked something like this.
