The hay saved and Cork beat
That is allegedly how Kerry people measure a good summer.
That of course is when they are able to bring themselves to mention the ‘C’ word.
The two counties clash in tomorrow’s Munster football final in Killarney, and for some men down in the heart of West Kerry they can’t even write the word, not to mind actually breathe it, if this sign in a pub in Dingle is anything to go by.

We have a feeling Kerry people may not be so polite to describe Cork footballers as just ‘them’ when the senior game gets underway at 2pm.
