This will go down a treat with fans from The Kingdom, and further afield.

Kerry picked a real winner, late last year, when they approached former captain Paul Galvin to help design their 2018 jerseys.

Galvin has launched his own fashion label since retiring from inter-county GAA and he brought Kerry back to their roots with a solid offering that has since inspired Mayo’s 2019 design.

Kerry have wisely, then, followed this up by asking Galvin to design some jerseys inspired by the green and gold, and by the great teams of yesteryear.

The Lixnaw native has designed a developed a range of retro jerseys inspired by 5-time All-Ireland winner and Kerry legend Joe Keohane.

Galvin’s has unveiled the first of three new jerseys that are part of his ‘Keohane Athletic Club’. The 39-year-old looked into Keohane’s past over recent months and admitted his surprise that more did not know his story.

The ‘Team of the Millennium’ defender (full back) played for his county at senior level between 1937 and 1946 and was a selector beside Mick O’Dwyer – helping Kerry to 8 more Sam Maguire victories – between 1975 and 1986.

Recently retired Kerry forward Kieran Donaghy is definitely on-board:

Jerseys one, two and three should all be available on the Kerry GAA store within the next week.

Christmas sorted for the Kerry devout in your life.
