One down and we suspect several more to go
While Davy Fitzgerald and TJ Ryan have been given at least another season, if not two, to turn things around in Clare and Limerick, Offaly are looking for a new man at the helm.
The county are managerless this morning after Birr legend Brian Whelahan decided to step down after a disappointing two year spell in charge of his native county.
The former senior and club all-Ireland winner saw his side lose to Laois this summer, while their championship came to a close with a loss to Clare in Ennis.
The decision by Whelahan was revealed at last night’s Offaly county board meeting

Brian Whelehan wishing his successor well. Committee to put in place to find that successor and review under-21 management

Whelahan endured a tough two years within the county senior set up as the Faithful tried to rebuild and improve its underage and senior structures after years of underachievement.
The next board meeting is likely to be in September by which time it is expected a shortlist of suitable candidates will be drawn up.
