For a save as good as this, it deserves to have John Mullane dialled up to 11!
72 minutes on the clock.
Scores level at 1-26 apiece.
Seamus Harnedy teed up with a hand-pass and Limerick defenders spilling back, more so in hope than in expectation.
It was all on two men – Harnedy vs. Nickie Quaid.
Harnedy flipped the ball up and was picturing himself pile-driving home but Quaid – the brave lunatic – flung himself forward and knocked the ball away with his out-stretched hurley.
The nation was in awe.
Replay and replay will be watched and the save will get better each time.

If you thought you enjoyed that one more than anyone else in the country, even those passionate Limerick fans, you’re wrong.
Up in the Croke Park stands was former Waterford hurler John Mullane on commentary duty for RTE Radio 1. His response to the Quaid save is pure, unbridled awe. Turning to co-commentator Pauric Lodge, Mullane declared:
“Ahhhh Pauric, in all my time commentating with you, I’ve never seen you getting up. You’ve gone like me Pauric!!
“Nickie Quaid, OH MY GOD, what an interception!!
“It looked like almost a certain goal by Seamus Harnedy but it was flicked away by Quaid, the ball goes up the other end of the field… I can’t keep up with this. I can’t catch me breath!”
You’re not the only one John.
John Mullane is in the press box and somehow it feels like he's on the pitch.
