Nearly €60,000 raised for Cork GAA player paralysed during Storm Emma

Nearly €60,000 has been raised for Cork GAA player Jack O’Driscoll who fractured the C5 vertebrae in his neck while playing out in the snow with his friends during Storm Emma.

O’Driscoll was immediately brought to Cork University Hospital after his fall, however, the severity of his injury required him to be transferred to Dublin to undergo surgery in the Mater Hospital.

The 19-year-old is currently in the hospitals High Dependency Unit (HDU), where he is receiving care. He is paralysed from the chest down.

O’Driscoll is hoping to begin the next stage of his rehabilitation at the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) in Dún Laoghaire and has set up a GoFundMe page which has already raised over €58,000 after it was created on Tuesday.
