WATCH: Michael Murphy stars in the most bizarre ad you’ll see in a long, long time

If the footballing career ever weans...

Niall McIntyre

We don’t really have a clue what’s going on here, but Jesus we love it.

Michael Murphy has been out of football action for a while now, with Donegal knocked out of the Championship all the way back in July, and his club Glenswilly knocked out recently, too, but he’s been keeping himself occupied in the off-season.

The big Donegal man has been teaming up with plant, machinery and equipment company ‘Vesgro Plant,’ who were a part of the recent National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore, and he’s taken a particular shine to one of their diggers.

You may think the 28-year-old is describing himself in full flow when he refers to the “powerful and fast” tendencies of the digger, that has “the control to get around the toughest of obstacles,” but in reality it appears that he’s just a jack of all trades.

Just like Murphy exudes determination and power on the field of play, these diggers are “determined to make their mark,” on their competitive fields.

The two-time All-Star then proceeds to test his football skills, pinging the O’Neill’s size five off the bucket, before showing off his digger-controlling abilities, which it must be said, are top drawer.

Murphy’s ability to scoop the ball at pace from the cab of the digger is truly reminiscent of the bolshie centre forward taking off on a barnstorming run in the Ulster Championship.

What a man. What an ad.

The public who saw it were enjoying it.
