Why fight it anymore?  The GAA is global.

And, come next March, the national games will take a whole new turn for the international with the launch of the GAA World Games set to take place in Abu Dhabi for their very first installment.

A weekend festival of Gaelic will include all GAA codes being contested between teams from all over the globe as well as a celebration of other Irish cultural events.

Speaking at the launch of the GAA World Games, Uachtarán Liam Ó Néill, predicted the continued growth in this video from the GAA when he said that “Gaelic games are going to become a global phenomenon.”

We’ve already witness Italy playing France in our native games recently.  Now, the president of the GAA reckons that all of the codes will only continue to grow.

“I think, at some stage in the future, we will see a world competition where people born in the countries will play Gaelic games for their country.”
