Kerry survive early scare to seal fourth Munster title on the bounce

Evan Fanning

Kerry 3-17 Tipperary 2-10.

Kerry made it four Munster titles in a row with a comprehensive 10-point victory over Tipperary in Killarney.

Eamon Fitzmaurice’s men survived an early scare when Tipperary put the ball in the next inside 35 seconds, but kept their composure to run out comfortable winners in the end

There were plenty of positives for Kerry aside from the result.

Paul Geaney and Paul Murphy were in brilliant form while James O’Donoghue came on as a second half substitute and kicked four points as he continues his recovery from injury.

One negative for Kerry was a first-half injury to Colm Cooper, who landed awkwardly on his shoulder and was taken off straight away.

Tipp can also take positives from the game, particularly how they took the game to their more illustrious opponents and will be a tough proposition for anyone in the qualifiers.
