There really is nothing like Junior B hurling.
It is that strange grade where a man with a moustache is to be much feared, and a world where you become an expert at togging out in the footwell of the passenger seat of your Nissan Micra.
It is also a thriving sub-community of GAA men who share their stories of life in the trenches of second and third fields of a cold Sunday morning across the country on the internet.
You tend to see odd things, like cows running across fields, or lads taking selfies on Snapchat, but it seems as if a young hurler from Wexford, or Kerry, we can’t be sure, decided he wanted to look super fashionable when lining out for his local team.
Trying to get 15 lads can be tough and we say fair play to this hero who stood in for his local team in their time of greatest need.
Buff Egan, of the always excellent Hurling Banter Page, stumbled across this pic, and to be fair, it’s an absolute gem.

After a nationwide search for this character, we’re told that the player is Billy Dunne of Oulart the Ballagh, son of Wexford legend and current manager Liam Dunne. Fair play to you, Billy!
