Terry Graham, take a bow.
Not all heroes wear capes. Not all heroes wear anything at all.
The Dublin-Westmeath Leinster final on Sunday unfolded into a bit of a non-event in the end. By the time the second half was in full flight, most people were almost thankful for a bit of streaking entertainment to break up the monotony.
Even the players just carried on playing anyway…
It has emerged though that it was all for a good cause.
Speaking with Dublin Live, Terry Graham revealed that he did it to raise funds for the brave five-year-old cancer patient, Ben ‘Batman’ Farrell and that his friends said they would sponsor him if he streaked.
“I heard about Ben’s story on Facebook and it hit me right in the heart,” he said. “I’m a sensitive man and I wanted to help.”
Ben Farrell was diagnosed with a rare form of Wilms tumour at Christmas time and has since undergone numerous bouts of chemotherapy as well as having a kidney removed. His family are currently researching into a trial for treatment in America but the estimated cost of it is €260,000.
You can donate over on Ben’s page.
Because of Terry’s act, there’s a greater contribution to the cause and a lot more awareness.
