Ballyboden lit up Parnell Park in the first half to see off reigning champions St Vincent’s in Sunday’s Dublin SFC final, but later they were left in the dark.
Worthy winners after racing into a 10-point lead early in the second half, the southside club were last night celebrating their first title since 2009.
Only problem was Michael Darragh Macauley and his team-mates were celebrating in the dark after a power failure affected their Firhouse Road clubhouse.

It made for a spooky scene on All Hallows as the fog and the darkness enveloped the Ballyboden base.

Power returned before 9pm, but they decided to persevere with the candles for the rest of the evening. Romantic.
