We’ve heard of teams being robbed of championships but this is ridiculous.
An All-Ireland Hurling winners medal has been stolen, according to Gardaí. In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said the theft of the sporting medal happened on Friday (25 November) in Wexford.
It is believed to have occurred between 4 pm and 7 pm following a burglary at a residence in Farnatrane in Oylegate.
The All-Ireland Hurling winners medal is from 1948 and was stolen along with other items of jewellery.
Gardaí said the medal is of “significant personal value to the victim” and that they are now appealing to the public for information regarding the theft.
