WATCH: The final, pulsating moments of Galway v Mayo from inside the RTÉ commentary box

The very definition of unflappable

Tony Cuddihy

We’ve never respected Marty Morrissey more.

Marty Morrissey manages to keep his head while all around him are losing theirs during Galway’s pulsating single point victory over Mayo in the Connacht SFC semi-final at Pearse Park on Sunday.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be inside a commentary box during the climactic moments of a massive Championship game, look no further than this.

The great man himself shared this footage of his commentary from the final moments of Sunday’s game, which saw the Tribesmen run out 0-15 to 1-11 victors over 14-men Mayo in Galway.

This is the very definition of unflappable, and the sense of excitement and urgency is actually improved by the fact that the sound of the crowd largely drowns Marty out.

Kevin Walsh’s men will now go on to their second Connacht final in a row against either Roscommon or Leitrim.

It may not have been a successful day for Mayo, but this was something a bit special.
