Galway hurlers struck by injury blow to key forward ahead of Leinster semi-final

It could be Laois’ day

Galway’s destruction of Dublin in the Leinster hurling q-final earlier this month means they enter tomorrow’s provincial semi final as firm favourites against Laois, but the bookies may have to re-consider their odds after Anthony cunningham revealed his starting 15 this morning.

The team is pretty much as expected, except for a major loss to their full-forward line with Jason Flynn absent due to a reported broken finger.

The corner-forward was in incredible form for the Tribesmen in the win over Dublin, scoring 0-9 as part of devastating full forward trio along with Joe Canning and Cathal Mannion, but now Niall Healy has been drafted in for the Tommie Larkins clubman.

Flynn had taken over the free-taking duties in some games this season so the change is likely to mean Joe Canning will be back hitting placed balls.

Not a bad replacement to be fair.

The only other change sees David Burke in for Joseph Cooney.

The full team is

1  Colm Callanan
2  Johnny Coen
3  John Hanbury
4  Padraig Mannion
5  David Collins
6  Iarla Tannian
7  Daithi Burke
8  Andrew Smith
9  Aidan Harte
10 David Burke
11 Cyril Donnellan
12 Jonathan Glynn
13 Cathal Mannion
14 Joe Canning
15 Niall Healy
