He can have his cake and eat it.
Roscommon legend, Shane Curran, is set to be added to the Fianna Fáil ticket and run for election.
The Irish Sun and now the Irish Times are reporting that the club All-Ireland winning goalkeeper is making a bid for the Dáil and that he will stand alongside local councillor Eugene Murphy as a dual candidate in the Roscommon-Galway constituency.
Curran used the Fianna Fáil as an example of an institution that used to be on top, along with the Catholic Church, in an eyebrow-raising rant on The Sunday Game last summer.
And, if it’s votes he’s looking for, he might have to start winning people back around.
Whoever is responsible for putting Shane Curran on the Sunday Game, please stop.

However, Cllr Murphy has said that he is not aware of Curran joining the ticket.
“I don’t expect that to happen,” he told the Irish Times. “I have my campaign up and running and am moving ahead.”
But a number of reports are still claiming that sources have confirmed that Shane Curran will be added to the Fianna Fáil ticket in the coming days.
