The Westmeath county board can’t say they  weren’t warned.
The county board fixed the Westmeath minor hurling final for just before the county senior final this afternoon in Cusack Park.
That’s fairly normal practice in many counties, apart from the fact that the clubs involved, Clonkill and Raharney, had written to the county board seeing a deferral of the game as a number of their U18 team are also in to line out in the senior clash fixed for 3.30 between the same clubs.
The county board apparantly failed to yield and the club today were forced into staying away from the game, which was schedule to take place early this afternoon
