The lads have done it again.
Dundalk IT hit the headlines last year when they went retro. The Louth college marked their return to the top table of college’s football with a beautiful blast from the past.
While all of the other colleges and even counties were outdoing each other with modern jerseys and all their modern features, DkIT blindsided them all with the type of geansaà that Ireland was crying out for.
So often, we find ourselves reminiscing on the old but gold jerseys with their collars and simplicity in design. That’s exactly what the Louth college delivered on the year they returned to the Sigerson Cup.
We were brought back 10, 20 even 30 years to the great jerseys that were there during many of our childhoods and the ones we watch on Laochra Gael on the television.
That old guaranteed Irish logo is something else. The soft material, the hanging collar, the colours, it really was the whole shebang.
The away was nice.
The home was even nicer.
For this year, they’ve kept the same retro look. They’ve added navy and white in with the blue and gold this year and even though there’s a lot going on, the colours still go well together.
Meanwhile, the white away one is improved by the gold hoop across the middle.
Those lads and ladies up in Dundalk sure love a good photoshoot.
