Donegal senior football championshipÂ
Round two of the championship continued over the weekend and holders St Eunan’s lost out to Glenties side Naomh Conaill 2-12 to 0-8.
The champions now need a win next week against Dungloe to have any hope of defending their title.
Dungloe got the better of Ardara by 2-7 to 0-12, while in Group three there was a draw between Cloughaneely and Glenfin while Glenswilly got the better of Malin by 3-9 to 1-8.
On Saturday Gweedore proved much too strong for MacCumhaills with a 1-15 to 2-8 win, while St Michael’s beat Four Masters 3-12 to 2-5.
Killybegs lost heavily to Kilcar by 1-15 to 2-4 while Termon and Naomh Muire shared a draw.
Cork senior football championship
Bishopstown finally found a way past Clyda Rovers after 1-9 to 0-8 win at the weekend to set up a quarter final encounter with O’Donovan Rossa next Saturday.
The sides have already met in the championship on day one, and that game ended 2-14 to 2-11 with the city side emerging with the win on that occasion.
In the weekend’s other game St Nicholas got the better of Dohenys in their replayed game by 1-5 to 0-7.
Evan Kearney’s goal before the ninth minute was the game breaker as the winners now face either Douglas or Nemo Rangers in the last eight
Meath senior football championship
The chance of a shock in this year’s Meath championship receded over the weekend as Navan O’Mahonys secured their place in the knockout round with a 2-10 to 0-10 win over Skyrne.
Despite Paddy O Rourke scoring 0-7 from full-forward, he could not prevent his side losing and they now face Dunshaughlin.
Elsewhere Donaghmore/Ashbourne beat St Patricks by 2-16 to 3-4, while Na Fianna beat Simonstown by 1-12 to 0-14 while Seneschalstown overcame Ballinlough 1-10 to 0-9.
Waterford senior football championship
Champions The Nire hammered Rathgormack by 4-12 to 0-5 to sail into the knockout stages.
Ballinacourty beat Ardmore by 1-12 to 1-9 on Saturday night to make the last eight while An Rinn lost to Brickey Rangers by 1-14 to 1-13.
Stradbally beat St Saviours by 0-20 to 1-3 while it’s four wins on the bounce for Kilrossanty as they overcame Gaultier by 2-13 to 0-6.
Offaly senior football Championship
What a difference a week makes as Clara recovered from one of their worst days in recent memory last week to beat Tullamore by 3-7 to 0-13.
Losing by 22 points last week was a stunning blow to their senses, and it didn’t look good at halftime staring at a 0-10 to 0-3 deficit, but goals from Luke Dignam, Barry Cushen and John O’Hara helped Clara to a famous win.
The weekend saw a number of nothing contests but in a game that did matter Gracefield beat St Rynaghas on Friday by 0-11 to 1-7 while Rhode recovered from an early shock to scrape a draw against Edenderry by 4-4 to 1-13 as Ferbane beat St Brigids by 3-10 to 1-7
Clare senior hurling championship
Cratloe are still on course to defend their Clare title after an impressive 3-19 to 3-14 win over O’Callaghans Mills on Sunday.
Former champions Crusheen are also through to the last eight after a 1-17 to 0-16 win over Eire Og. The county’s most successful ever side Newmarket-on-Fergus are also in the shake up after a 1-17 to 0-13 win over Tulla.
Kilmaley will join them in the q-final draw after a 1-20 to 1-14 win over Inagh Kilnamona.
And the Q-final draw is as follows:
Sixmilebridge v Cratloe,
Clonlara v Newmarket,
Clooney-Quin v Crusheen,
Ballyea v Kilmaley
At the other end of the championship Clarecastle and Tubber will meet in a relegation decider to see who plays intermediate hurling next season. The Magpies lost to Feakle by 3-17 to 1-13 while Whitegate beat Tubber by 1-14 to 0-16.
Tipperary hurling championship
The last four places in the County senior hurling knockout stage were decided on Sunday as the regional finals took place across the country.
The Mid  Tipperary final was the most entertaining of the weekend as Thurles Sarsfields beta Loughmore Castleiney by 1-17 to 2-13 to knock their opponents out of the championship.
Elsewhere John O’Dwyer’s nine points was the difference as Killenaule beat Mullinahone by 0-21 to 2-13 in the south decider while Kildangan had a goal to spare against Templederry Kenyons in the north decider
Paul Flynn’s goal proved the game winner in a thrilling contest that sees the losers exit this year’s championship after a 1-18 to 0-18 loss.
The last final saw Eire Og Ammnacarty get the better of Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams by 0-16 to 2-9 to secure their third divisional crown in a row.
