Classic GAA picture of the big lad marking the wee lad in the Galway Féile is hilarious

Conan Doherty

“He’s definitely not under-14.”

There have been so many Gaelic myths down through the years on the local GAA scene.

Any underage team that have ever been beaten have, at one stage or another, claimed that the other crowd were playing a load of boys ‘over the bar’.

From men with stubbles lining out for the under-16s.

Under-14 players showing up to the game in a tractor.

We’ve all been victims of losing the game because they cheated. Or so we said.

Sometimes, it is just too hard to believe though.

A Féile match between the under-14s of Sylane and Skehana presented the opportunity for the most GAA picture of the week. It was definitely a case of “he’s not under-14” – only, in this case, neither seemed to be under-14. For very different reasons.

It definitely wasn’t a like for like in the marking match-ups. Hope there weren’t many high balls fired in.
