A helluva lot of people watched the All-Ireland final on RTE

More than last year's final

The All-Ireland Football Final between Dublin and Kerry is the most watched Irish broadcast of the year.

RTE’s head of sport Ryle Nugent has revealed the figures, and yesterday’s final drew an average audience of 875,000 viewers, up 49,000 on 2014’s final.

The figures surpass the 900,000 who watched the All-Ireland hurling final earlier this month, and although the Sky Sports’ viewership figures have yet to be released, we can safely say more people watched yesterday’s game on RTE.

Just 32,000 watched the hurling final in the UK on Sky Sports.
