Formula 1 is back this weekend, and returns to Europe for the first time this season. The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix takes place at the famous Imola circuit in Italy.

In the last F1 race of the season, the Miami Grand Prix, Lando Norris won his first-ever grand prix, beating the dominant Max Verstappen to secure McLaren’s first win since September 2021.

Verstappen retains a 33-point lead in the drivers’ championship, ahead of his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari is in third place.

Lewis Hamilton is currently in ninth place after experiencing his worst-ever start to an F1 season.

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix did not run in 2023 after heavy flooding in the region. Verstappen won the race in 2022 and 2021.

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Formula 1 across the weekend.

The schedule for the weekend’s racing is as follows:

Friday, May 17

  • Practice 1: 12:30 pm.
  • Practice 2: 4 pm.

Saturday, May 18

  • Practice 3: 11:30 am.
  • Qualifying: 3 pm.

Sunday, May 19

  • Race: 2 pm.

You can watch highlights of the practice and qualifying sessions on Channel 4 on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm. Highlights of the race will be shown at 6:30 pm on Sunday on Channel 4.
