Oh, to be a fly on the wall when this was being composed.
After scoring 62 goals in 116 caps, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has retired from international football.
The 34-year-old striker’s last game for Sweden was a 1-0 loss to Belgium in their final game of Group E in 2016. Following the match, Ibrahimovic officially hung up his international boots for good.

When the dust had finally settled on the Belgium loss, Zlatan took to Twitter to share his thoughts on calling time on his international career.
Although he thanked the loyal fans for their continued support, the eccentric forward managed to pay tribute to himself with the post on social media.
“I came from this place people call “ghetto Rosengård”, conquered Sweden and made it my country. My way. I am Sweden.
“A huge thank you to the Swedish people – without you I would never have been able to fulfill my dreams. You will always be in my blue and yellow heart. I love you.”
You hear that, Alfred Nobel? How about you, Anders Celsius? Take a hike, Abba! Zlatan is Sweden. The queen is dead, long live the Zlatan.
(N.B. Queen Silvia of Sweden is not actually dead, it was merely a saying)
