The exception proves the rule.
And in the case of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, we’re not surprised that one incoming manager has no interest in signing the Swede next season, but plenty of others do.
The current PSG striker is out of contract at the end of the season, and he is being hawked around Europe by his willing agent Mino Raiola.
He has been linked with a move to several Premier League sides, including Manchester United and Arsenal, but it’s understood his wages are a key stumbling block for any possible move to the Premier League.
The 34 year old’s personality may also be a problem, as his agent has confirmed that one high profile club has failed to get in touch.
Future Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola isn’t a Zlatan fan it seems, judging by the comments of Raiola in Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“(PSG) are doing all that they can to sign him to an extension. Paris remains an option
“Outside of Manchester City, who will be managed by Pep Guardiola, all the big clubs have knocked on the door.”
The two, of course, shared a brief time at the Nou Camp together before the striker was shipped out when his fiery battles with Guardiola proved too much for the manager and the club’s board.
Not that it will bother Zlatan or his agent to be snubbed by Guardiola.
Raiola has revealed offers from Inter and AC Milan, as well as Napoli ,while Zlatan is also likely to be the subject of a massive offer from China.
His agent admits the lure of playing in Asia, and earning tonnes of cash, is one his client could be tempted by.
“I won’t reveal the (contract offer from China) but it is very high. He has offers from every continent but it is too early to paint the final picture,” Raiola said.
“I am going on vacation for three weeks but I imagine when I return more pieces of the puzzle will be put into play, not just for Ibra.”
How will Raiola ever pay for his holiday?
