Zlatan Ibrahimovic was lucky to escape a red for this ‘kick’ on Seamus Coleman

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was lucky not receive his marching orders today.

Controversy erupted during the 50th-minute of the game between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park.

Coleman, who had just dispossessed Ibrahimovic, was hauled to the ground cynically by the Swedish star, and what happened next could easily have warranted the a red card.

As Ibrahimovic fell on top of the Donegal defender, he appeared to land his left foot on his opponent, striking Coleman directly in the face.

The reaction on Twitter was firmly against the United forward, who gave his team the lead with a first-half goal.
